Not a Pretty Picture...

Photobucket

First, let me tell you that it is 78 degrees in the Missouri Bootheel right now. Tomorrow it may be 80. On March 13th.
That said, I'm taking the opportunity to take some of my poor houseplants outside; I'll also tell you now that during the 70s and 80s, I was one of those people that had LOTS of plants, and they were all perfect... no, that doesn't sound nice ~ they were very well kept.  My first husband once told me that he wished I would spend as much time with him as I did my houseplants (as I carefully misted them).
Fast-forward thirty years; now I "winter-over" ~ in the house ~ my big ficus trees, my Christmas Cactuses (gifts from my dear friend Elaine and my son Jonathan; also one that was my Mom's), and a fern or miscellaneous floor-plant or two, maybe. By this time, the figs really want to go out, and the ferns are barely hanging in there...

A Rabbit's Foor Fern hybrid...thick fronds, normally very easy care.....(unless it does without water altogether)...

My pseudo-bonsai ficus....

Meanwhile, inside the house...

The kitties have discovered that something is amiss...something is different in their house..."Aha! This is the urn where one of those big green cat toys lived...I wonder where it went..."

Tallulah investigates, while Leo keeps watch...

I think there may be a little slimy water WAAAY down in here...

"What?? ~ No, we aren't doing anything....Why?"

Leo tries some spur-of-the-moment frenzied grooming to try to call attention away from Tallulah...

So, a few plants outdoors...(really does make it seem like Spring ~ that, and I want to turn on the AC, but am really trying not to, on principle...)

I'm not complaining, though ~ No. Hope it stays this way...:)

Tuesday already? Have a good one!

  1. Does your fig tree live outside in Spring and Summer? I want to do that for mine but I was afraid it would drop all the leaves when I brought it back into the house in the Fall. Cute photo of kitties. Deb

  10. Stir up a little dirt and the kitties get curious. Now if you had only misted that husband a little. ;>

I can't believe how warm it is everywhere. It's going to be in the 60s way up here. Crazy.

  11. Hi Anne- We are breaking all kinds of records here this Spring, too. I am so anxious for Spring but there is great possibility we will have at least one more big winter storm.

Love the "boys" playing together. How sweet is that! xo Diana
